Benefits
Piston Technology
A reciprocating compressor is a positive displacement compressor that uses a piston to compress air and deliver it at high pressure. The overall design of a piston compressor is similar to an internal combustion engine. A central crankshaft will drive the pistons, this is powered by a motor. As the piston is drawn backwards, gas enters the compressor through the intake valve. The gas is then injected into the cylinders of the pistons and the reciprocating action of the piston compresses the air.
- High-output, two-stage, energy efficient oil free piston compressors
- Modern technology combined with robust engineering means payback times are short
- Going oil free – compelling advantages for a wide range of sectors & applications
Improved Carbon Footprint
In an oil-free compressor, there is no risk of oil contamination to products or equipment. Furthermore, installation, energy and maintenance costs for condensate treatment, filter system or compressed air treatment are avoided. The result is a greatly improved carbon footprint.
Significant Energy Savings
CompAir’s oil-free piston compressors deliver possible energy savings of up to 20% over comparable technologies. The significant energy savings result from the low input power at full load, the narrow pressure band and the low off-load losses.
Short Payback Times
High-quality, robust construction along with excellent efficiency means that payback times are short. With its long economic life cycle, the R-Series can supply affordable compressed air, year after year.
Comprehensive Electronic Control
The multilingual Delcos 3100-R control system ensures safe and reliable operation and continuously monitors the operating parameters to protect your investment.
Easy Installation
Being wired ready for connection, the units are easy to install and require no additional foundation.
High Air Quality
Instead of using oil as a lubricant or cooler, the R series is water-cooled with generously dimensioned tubular coolers. This ensures absolutely no risk of contamination and a Class 0 air output.
Inside the R Series oil-free reciprocating compressor
The R-Series are two-stage, double-acting reciprocating (piston) compressors. Other main benefits are its easy maintenance and comprehensive electronic control. It can be installed in the open or with noise-reduced housing. Being wired ready for connection, the units are easy to install and require no additional foundation.
The design of the double-acting high-performance compressor offers a big reduction in electrical input power, at both full and half load. Rapid switching from full load to half load and back again ensures a flexible response to compressed air demand and a low-pressure difference in the network. At the same time off-load losses are minimised, at just 8-9% of generating capacity in the case of piston compressors.
